Description

CA CSEFEL Teaching Pyramid
Training Institute
for Authorized PreK Trainers

Help expand implementation in your county to include infants and toddlers!

This is an opportunity for you to upgrade your authorization as a CA CSEFEL trainer to include the CA CSEFEL Teaching Pyramid for Infants & Toddlers.

Trainers will be selected based on their application, experience and knowledge in infants and toddlers, and regional distribution. To be considered, applicants must:

  • Commit to attending the full three days of the training institute in Fairfield, CA June 19-21, 2017* that covers the differences in the Infant Toddler content.
  • Participate in an abbreviated online version of the training in the Spring. This participation is a pre-requisite to attending the institute. Following each session, participants will complete a reflection form and participate in a short online debriefing.
  • On the third day of the Institute, trainers will be asked to provide training on some unique elements of the CA CSEFEL Teaching Pyramid for Infants & Toddlers for a group of participants coming to attend the Institute for New Trainers.
  • Have resources/job to support this role, as additional funding for training is not necessarily available (although there may be opportunities for authorized trainers to be paid).
  • Participate in ongoing training and technical support from CA CSEFEL staff, including observation, training, and web support.
  • Collect data as required by the CA CSEFEL project on the effectiveness of this approach.
  • Train only on the CA CSEFEL Teaching Pyramid when acting as a CA CSEFEL trainer.
  • Work with the county-wide leadership team to strengthen policies and systems to sustain evidence-based practices such as the Teaching Pyramid approach at the local level.

*Space is limited. Applicants will be notified of next steps based on their application. A fellowship is available for the Institute that covers lodging, many meals, and materials. A registration fee of $125 is also required.
